Quick Summary
This discussion addresses a refund failure caused by a name mismatch between the PAN/Aadhaar (Raju Sharma) and the bank account (Raju). Since the assessee is deceased and cannot open a new bank account, the family is seeking ways to claim the refund. The advice suggests adding the legal heir as a representative assessee and reapplying for the refund, as offline refunds are no longer an option and bank account details must match PAN records precisely.

There is no other way as tax office discontinued offline refunds long back. Your bank account name needs to be matched in name. Its okay if father/husband's name not appearing in bank account name, but first and last name should match with PAN record.

Manoj

Open new bank account in line with PAN , aadhaar and validate the new bank account and place a refund re issue account if refund failure communication is received
New bank account can't be opened as Assessee is no more.
Add the representative assessee/ legal hair and apply again
Apply in legal heir account?
