17 March 2010Can anyone tell me how to aproach Assessing officer for REFUND????
my all clients have already received their refunds but one of them has not recd it for 2 to 3 years.
I had given letter in Incometax depatment regarding this in october but refund is still not given.
pls suggest what to do??

Aproach Directly to ITO.......if There is Any Personal Relation is There......

Dear Shraddha
it is not necessary to know any one inthe dept, you take a copy of the return filed and go meet the particulat ward in which the return has been filed
The reason that one of ur clients have not got the refund could be the details of the tds would not have been entered properly, by the IT DEPT if the tds certificates have not been submitted along with the return then take the original tds certifictes along with u, remember to take a copy of the tds certificates b4 giving the tds certificates to the dept.

U need to approach personally to the ITO. and talk to him personally as ask for the requirements he needed.
and more or less how to deal with them u might have thought in ur articleship.

Hello,
Its simple. Draft a proper letter with the attachments of It return filed last years for which refund is claimed. Also attach copy of letters sent previously. Go to the respective income tax ward and submit one original copy of appilcation signed by the assessee and other to the office of commisioner of the same ward. SO it wil be done quikly.
P.S. if its the first time application than just sent to ITO ward only .

Dear Shraddha
BE PRACTICAL - Pl.go to I.Tax office & meet with respective I.Tax inspector/Clerical Staff & offer a fix %age of refund. I can gurantee you for refund within a short span of time.

Hello Mr Anil....
What a valuable answer of yours for being practical..For individuals they wont be taking that commission as it will be hardly anything...And to get your own income which you have right, why you want to pay for that...
And Mr anil really seems practical... SO i suggest to send him for refund. May be he can negotiate better...
