We have already filed one individual income tax return for the a/y 20011-12 with in due date i.e. 29-7-11 through online.

also recd. the intimation u/s.143(1) of the same from CPC-Bangalore

Now on december, 2011 i came to know from one party that they had deducted Rs.15000/- tds on interest payment by them. but we had not claim the tds amount at the time of filing return.

therefore my query is that whether i should go for revise the return or file online rectification of return attaching the corrected ITR xml file through efiling of income tax return website.

pl. some one clarify.

you can revise your return & claim TDS.

you must file revise return electronically

As you have filed ur return of Income within due date prescribed u/s. 139(1) u can file revise return of the relevant assessment year. Maximum time available to revise the return is one year from the end of the relevant assssment year. So go ahead and claim the refund by filing the revised return.

Dear friend you can rectify a return only by revising the return.

this statement is based on a case law of Gopaldas Parshottamdas v CIT (1941) 9 ITR 130 (A11)

Revising is the only option that you have.

u have to revise your return............

ya..........u should  Revise ur Return to claim TDS.
