Quick Summary
This discussion explores the accounting treatment for 'buy 1 get 1 free' sales promotions. Participants debate whether the cost of the free product should be expensed as a promotional cost or absorbed within the sales revenue. The consensus leans towards accounting standards for revenue recognition, suggesting the cost of the free item is effectively covered by the sale of the paid item, rather than being a separate expense.
I don't see anything wrong with it. That's what I was saying about unwinding the discount. Other products or on bundle of services. Which ever product has a problem.
