RCM applicability for Ocean freight
Dear all, Please give clarification for whether RCM applicable for Ocean freight. Please give notification reference.

As of July 2026, RCM is not applicable to ocean freight on the import of goods. The previous requirement to pay IGST under RCM was removed effective October 1, 2023, via Notifications 08/2023 and 13/2023-Integrated Tax (Rate) to avoid double taxation, following the Supreme Court's decision in the Mohit Minerals case.
