Quoting of hsn codes in invoices

Hi all,

 

Is it mandatory to quote 8 digit HSN codes for products while raising Invoices.

Is furnishing 4 digit HSN code sufficient in this regard...?

Kindly Clarify.

dear
turnover less than 1.5 crore (not required)
between 1.5 to 5.0 crore (First 2 digit)
above 5 crore ( First 4 digit)
however major company's are asking for 8 digit to regularize purpose...

You can put your Items HSN code at the time of starting it to be good practice to you
