Quick Summary
Section 44AE of the Income Tax Act outlines special provisions for businesses that ply, hire, or lease goods carriages. It allows for presumptive income calculation based on the number and type of vehicles owned, with specific daily rates for heavy and other goods vehicles. This section simplifies tax compliance by deeming certain deductions as already allowed and often exempting businesses from maintaining books of accounts and audits, provided the declared income meets the presumptive limits.
