Dear Respected Memebrs,

I have come across a unique query.

I am applying for DIN for a proposed director. His name as per PAN card is "Vishwanathan Shankar" whereas PAN as per Income Tax Data Base appears to be IYER VISWANATHAN SHANKAR. While filling DIN 1 form, we are writing name as per Income tax data base and it is gettng verified. However, we are having doubts that at the time of processing the application, whether MCA will reject our application on account of mismatch in name as per PAN card.

Your quick help in this regard is highly appreciable.

What you have done is correct Mr. Chandra Shekhar. You have applied DIN with name as per Income Tax data base. The name as appearing in PAN card is not at all used to verify the DIN application. I think the DIN form is approved automatically and there is no physical verification done by MCA.

The only question is regarding verification of PAN with Income-tax database. If the validation is successful, you can proceed with applying for DIN. Also, if the practising professional signs the form, DIN will be automatically generated.

Also you should give an affidavit stating that the person's name as per PAN is Vishwanathan Shankar.

To validate the form with Income tax database, you mention Iyer as the first name of the applicant.

Notarise the form and file it with Form DIN1. I have done this type very many times. Or else, you can opt for change in PAN card. But it takes 10 days minimum for that process.
