Purchase price in LTCG

Shall i take avg purchase price in purchase column while calculating capita gain or take different purchase prices for each time i buy shares of same company
e.g. if i buy 2 shares of xyz co at 10 and then again 5 shares of xyz co at 12 then should i take average purchase price or calculate apital gain differenty for each lot purchased
