Professional Tax for Company's Branch

Hi Friends

If a company has its Branches in different States or Cities should the Professional Tax to be paid for each Branch separately or only the Head Office is liable to pay PT???

Please clarify the same ASAP..

Profession tax is a State Act .Regarding Payment either Branch can pay or Branch can advise HO accordingly so that the payment can be made from Head office

So u mean to say if suppose a company has 5 Branches in a City then Professional Tax is to be paid for all the 5 Branches..right??

if there are 5 branches in different cities then professional tax is to be paid for all the 5 branches .Suppose you have two branches one in vijaywada and one in hyderabad this u can club together and pay professional tax of all employees working in both the branch viz vijaywada and Hyderabad since both branches fall under AP state
