I'm running a digital marketing startup in Bangalore since Nov '17. I just realised I haven't been paying the Karnataka Professional Tax so far. I did the application online but never went to the PT office for the login id/password.
I have one employee whom I'm paying over 15,000/- p.m. I haven't technically recieved any salary so far.
I was going through the rules and it states that a certain section of professionals including consultants are exempted from paying PT for the first two years. I wanted to know if this was valid for my situation as well? It also mentions that other than employees, everyone else has to pay the PT once a year. Is this aplicable to me? Even if I haven't recieved any income?
Any help would be appreciated.
