Pls tell me the procedure of registration of professional tax in Chennai, applicable registration form, Payment of tax with due date, applicable return with due date and rules related to interest on late payment of tax, return , penalty etc.

professional tax registration depend on your type of the legal entity. you can apply directly througout the chennai corporation government website. So after the company registration in chennai just go to https://www.chennaicorpoation.gov.in/

Here are the following steps -

1. Click on Online Tax Payment Which is encircled below image

2. Then Click on a button called Profession Tax

3. On Clicking Profession button user will get the following screen to signup/login.

4. If a new user click on “Not Registered” and “Citizen” to sign up.

5. Enter the user name and password if existing user.

6. After logged into the system, will appear the Inbox screen as follows

7. Click on Create Service Request to Register/Apply a Trade License Application.

8. Select Service as “Profession Tax” and Service category “New Registration”. And then click on “Continue”. (Clicking on continue System should redirect to the new window. Else assume that user’s browser blocking pop-ups. Hence allow pop-ups in browser and try again).

9. To receive a new application with Professional, individual, private establishments with the purpose of profession tax and issuing profession tax acknowledgement through citizen portal

10. While clicking on new assessee option should get a new registration form in new window.

11. After filling up new registration details screen, Should have Save, Submit Button.
