Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies professional tax (PT) deductions from salaries. Participants confirm that PT is typically deducted monthly, with varying rates (e.g., £200-£300 pm). It's noted that the annual deduction can indeed be around £2450. The conversation also touches upon the relevance of PT in light of the standard deduction of £50,000 introduced from AY 19/20, confirming that professional tax remains applicable under both old and new tax regimes.

No , it can't be 2450
For March to April PT is 200 p.m.
and for February it's 300 p.m.
Deduction for Professional tax no more relevant as per my knowledge. Now from A Y 19/20 standard deduction is allowed upto 50000/-. Please cross check.
In my opinion, professional tax is allowed in new regime as well as in old regime
