at the end of finicial year printout accounting copys make a book compulsory and pdf format or back up copy better options.
Maintenance of Books of account in tally or other software is sufficient, There is no requirement to take printout of tally entry or account. You can keep back-up of tally for your future purpose.
You also have to maintain hard copy /soft copy duly authenticated file of all the supporting documents for entry made by you in tally,...like purchase bill, sale bill, bank statement, expenses bill/vouchers ect.
