Another book of Singhania has come recently - "Student Guide to Income-tax - Problems & Solutions". You can also refer this book. It contains problems based upon recent changes, not available any other book. If you solve these problems, you will be in a position to solve any problem given in any book or asked in any examination.
Regarding Direct Tax: Need to refer good text book.Try to clear concept every provisions, dont waste more time in problem.
