ppf interest

as the name itself explains, it is PUBLIC PF  So, government exempts

PPF interest is exempt.... Why means???? Do you want it to be made taxable???

ppf intt is exempt b'coz it is a kind of retirement savings. n govt. wants to exempt retirement savings. most of the retirement plans are exempt . so, it has been done to bring it parallel with other plans.
