Power of attorney for a partnership firm

I am planning to start a new pharma distribution firm with one of my friend as partner. But as i am an employee working in an MNC, i will not be able to participate in day to day responsibilities. So will i be able to nominate my brother to avail power of attorney to act as controller in my absence. Please advise on further details if any.
