Is it mandatory to file ITR in all the columns in the statement 26AS and AIS for the financial year 2020-2021 as No Transactions? Other earnings are barely ₹ 150,000, with regular messages coming in. Please advise

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses the mandatory filing of ITR for the financial year 2020-2021 when Statement 26AS and AIS show no transactions. The consensus is that even with minimal income (around ₹150,000) and no recorded transactions, filing is necessary. It is advised to use ITR1 and report the income under the 'Income from other sources' head, simplifying the process without the need for extensive record-keeping.

U can simply file ITR1 show that 150000 under Income from other sources no need to maintain books and all
File itr1 and show 150000 under income from other sources head
