Physical share certificate -Spelling mistake -Name correction

Hello All,

Please guide me on this important issue. My father had bought few share certificates during 1980's. They are physical (Paper) share certificates. They are jointly held by my father and mother.

There is a spelling mistake in the name on the certificate.

e.g. Usha ---> Visha and Balwant ---> Balawnt

My Questions are,

1. How to correct the spelling mistakes on the share certificate??

2. What all documents will be needed ?

3. What is the complete procedure to make sure it is rectified, so that we can Dematerialize the paper certificates.

Thanks a Ton in Advance

Anuja.
