I have  completed 18 months of articleship now iam not under any CA so is it neccessary to be under any CA while appearing for your exam.

Not necessary. You are eligible to appear for exam

some institute people says the same but some says you have to be under a CA

When u are in doubt , get it clarified by the institute.
