I would like to know the payroll functions with respect to the accounting and statutory related.

You asked a rather general question. I think it would be easier if you would clearly formulate what exactly you are interested in. About the calculation functions, I can say that all <a href= https://www.payrollindex.com/payroll-services/>wages are calculated by exceptional service</a> in the company where I work. This service is responsible for timely payment, calculating all taxes, and complying with all costs with the law. As far as I know, there is an opportunity to either delegate the analysis of salaries entirely or do it partially, leaving some of the functions to themselves. Each company chooses the most convenient solution for themselves. If you want something more specific, then let me know.
