Payment of service tax for the month of march 2012

for the month/ quarter ended 31st March, last date of payment of service tax is 31st March itself.. 

for any other cases, it is 5th of the net Month/quarter as applicable (and 6th in case if E-Filing)

Yoy can also pay service tax beyond 31-3.2012 but you will have to pay Interest @ 18% per annum on number of days delayed.

But what about the invoicing on 31/03/2012?

You can pay approximate service tax. For eg if your liability for 1-30 March is 20,000 then you can deposit by taking into account the last date i.e 31 March say about Rs. 25000. Hence, if the total liability for the month of March comes out to Rs. 23,000 you can take the credit of the the rest 2000 to pay your future liability.
