Payment of Rent under head income from salary
I am a salaried person and paying Rent 17000 p.m .whether I can claim deduction for this rent from salary ?

Yes do you receive house rent allowance from your employer?
Are you getting House rent Allowance ?.
No..he is not permanent employee..he is getting salary in whole without any bifurcation
1)was he working on Contractual or Contract basics?, with no employer employee relations .
2) is he getting rent receipt from property owner?.
2) is he getting rent receipt from property owner?.
If you are getting HRA then you can claim exemption as per prescribed provisions, if you are not receiving HRA then claim deduction u/s 80GG
You Can claim deduction under section 80GG with certain conditions, because he is not getting HRA . Also he has to give declaration.
