I have come across a very strange thing today and would like to bring this to your notice. The Department of Revenue,Ministry of Finance, Governmnet of India has published a half page advertisement in almost all the daily newapapers today that the advance tax can be paid online by using a credit card or a debit card. On accessing the site, it clearly says that the credit/debit payments are not yet available.
Further, on enquiring on the phone number given in the advertisement, the department has clarified that the advertisement given is a wrong one and it has been printed wrongly. Friends don't you all think that this is collosal loss of revenue made by the government.
The department doesn't even feel ashamed to say that they have made a mistake. This again is an example of lack of accountability and harrassment to the public and we people are really helpless in not being able to do anything concrete.
