HI REKHA, TO START WITH A PAYROLL AUDIT ,YOU WILL NEED TO FIRST ACCESS THE MASTER DATA , see who all are concerned with the data security and contact them to understand the methods to change the data esp. when new people join, some exits.note them down and study the procedure .this will give u an idea about the system as well as serve u as a starting point for ur audit.After this, do a test check in respect of each employee cadre for all the above new joinees,exits,promotions etc.enquire about the treatment of deputations and ensure that people on contract basis have Not been taken on payroll. check for the routine deductions and also for loan and advances recoveries.
