1. First of all, there is no requirement of reporting of PASSPORT number in ITRs of AY 2017-18. (Practically Filed all ITRs, without passport number)

2. Secondly, Passport authorities do not issue new passport but renew with same old number.  So, *NO NEW PASSPORT ISSUED* in that sense.

1. You could be right on this point though government notified quoting of passport number in case of foreign travel in income tax return in AY 1516. Also provide Practical solution if I want to report passport number compulsorily

2. The new passport number is ALWAYS Adifferent from the old passport number . The Authorities mention the old passport number details. but there is a new number for sure.

@ here is no mandatory requirement for quoting Passport no. Even if you want to quote You'll provide the new one.
