I think ur password is your pan & Date of birth in this formate- abcde1234f27072011. where ur pan is ABCDE1234F & UR DOB is 27/07/2011.

But u r NOT supposed to use any passwrd or alter the protection options in the form.

I too face the same prob in my office. The form works in one system and doesnt work on another.

The prob may be coz of ur operating system.

Fill itr4 from incum tax website which is in excel.. Its very easy to use n den upload the return

You don't need any password for validating the sheets or generating the xml file if you are using the excel workbook downloaded from the Income tax site.

The problem happens due to 3 reasons:

1. The macros are disabled: hope you know how to enable the macros

2. ActiveX controls are disabled: When you open the file just below the menus, there is a message bar which gives a security warning that ActiveX is disabled. Click options and enable it. This might solve the problem. If that too doesn't solve the problem read on.

3. The original file is Office 2003 format, that is it is in *.xls. Solution: save as macro enabled workbook. Close the file and then reopen. 

I guess that should solve the problem.

Enable the macros while opening the file even after if the sheet is not validating the low/medium your system security by going into tools menu----->Option-------->Security---------->Macro Security.

I think You are preparing ITR  and using  excel utility software......Please Set  your macro at low security it on tools>macro>security> click on low.....After Validate Ur return......One things i want to ask you that

After filing itr u r  file password is ur pan no. and dob....example ur pan is abcpk1235b and ur dob is 01/02/2011

then password is abcpk1235b01022011....

...I hope u understand.
