Partner in both propteritorship and partnership firm

Pls clarify:

I am CA. I have opened my chartered accountants propreitorship firm a year ago.

Now, I also wanted to become partner with one of my freind's firm which is a 3 partners' firm.

Is it possible for me to do practice both individually through my propreiotorship firm and at the same time as a partner in my friend's firm.??
