PAN Mandatory for DIN

Whether DIN-4 is required to be filed for directors who are foreign nationals but  having PAN Number?

At the time of application for PAN these foreign directors did not have their PAN and hence DIN was obtained based on Passport.  However, these foreign directors have now obtained PAN and whether it's necessary to file DIN-4 in such cases?

 Hello Jayshree Ma'm,.

In my view, though the circular states  PAN for indian nationals, it further states at Point 3, Filing of DIN-4

by all Existing DIN Holders, which means to include foreign nations too.

So DIN-4 Filing would be required here for foreign nationals too.

Also DIN Cell would intimate via email/sms to respective din holders who have not furnished their PAN.

So this can be cross check for you for filing DIN-4.

Hi Vishal,

PAN is mandatory for a director. Know your PAN status cannot be used to obtain DIN.
