For apply PAN card, in form no 49A require AO code. For that , it asks area where you intent to file TDS return......
i am a student, not an assessee, in this case which area i am to mention ,my permanent address in my native (Kanniakumari) or dwelling address (Chennai) ...?
And, it also asks, ward,Range, commissioner.........whether it should be filled... becoz, i am not an tax paying assessee....
Please reply me....

NO NEED TO FILL WARD AND RANGE, JUST FILL NAME AND PROOF OF ADDRESS WHERE UR STAYING AND ID PROOF..
If you are submitting the application manually, then you may leave the fields blank. they fill it themselves!!

Also, its better to mention permanent address, unless you are going to stay for long at the dwelling address
