PAN AADHAR NOT LINK
One of my client from Assam have not linked PAN and Aadhar. Is it mandatory to payment of Rs. 1000 for PAN and AADHAR link process for ASSAM resident as in PAN AADHAR linking page it shows that it is not mandatory to PAN AADHAR LINK for Assam resident. Please clarify this.

Yes, its not mandatory for residents of Assam, Jammu and Kashmir and Meghalaya
Department is accepting without payment of 1000/- since deadline for ITR is approaching
If this is not mandatory to payment of 1000/- for Assam, then how to link PAN AADHAR because when we tried to link through Incometax portal, it goes to challan payment portal.
Portal is asking for Payment of 1000
From past 2 days portal is not asking.
Yes portal is asking for Payment.
@ Portal is asking for payment , just check as only first of is asking for aadhar instead of payment
