Quick Summary
If you've paid your Self Assessment Tax for AY 2014-15 but it's still showing as an outstanding demand, you can resolve this by submitting proof of payment. Check your Form 26AS for challan details if you don't have the original copy. You can then use these details to disagree with the demand online, or if that fails, request a manual rectification from your Income Tax Officer.
Go to challan status enquiry in NSDL and input the details of challan as per 26AS , you may get the confirmation and convert the page to PDF and which can be used for uploading on IT website
