Onsight Salary Income

Tax planning 607 views 1 replies

One of my Friend working in MNC at Bangalore. He was in New York, US for 4 months June'10 to Oct'10. During the period he was not in India Payroll and his Form 16 2010-11 will not include any income during the period. He was in US payroll and got some salary and he filed US income tax return during march 2011.

Now, Question is do he required to show the salary (after converting US dollars into India Rs) earned in US, in his Income tax return to be filed in India for Assessment year 2011-12 ?

Kindly suggest.

No need to file IT in india because india have DTAA with US only income earned in india have to show in Indian ITR.
