Nro account tax savings

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am having an NRO savings account and had few fixed deposits where TDS for interest is charging at around 30.9%. As I don't have any other income in INDIA, is it possible to reclaim this paid tax under free slab rate of Rs 2,50,000 per annum when I file IT returns ? If not, is there any other alternative for fixed deposits to save tax ?
