Quick Summary
This discussion addresses an NRI who received a notification about a high-value transaction for a vehicle purchase, funded by a loan and NRI income. The core question is whether an Income Tax Return (ITR) needs to be filed and how to declare NRI income. While direct replies to SMS alerts aren't possible, filing a nil return or using the IT department's complaints portal are suggested. For cash deposits/withdrawals made by relatives, the NRI must either declare it as income or provide supporting evidence.

How can you reply sms,  unless there is any link to it or in e-filing profile.

If there is no income earned/accrued in India, you can reply accordingly, but if there is no link to reply, better file nil return..

Reply in IT department ..complains portal...is it enough?

No. Grievance will not be right choice...

Better file nil return.

Sir one more doubt...even though he is an nri..his savings bank account is reported for cash deposit and withdrawal of ra 11lakhs..which is done by his relative..what to do

He should either declare it as income or should be able to justify the cash credits with suppoting evidence/s..
