S.O…(E) In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (1) of section (8) of the Central Sales Tax Act, 1956 (74 of 1956), the Central Government hereby reduces the rate of tax as specified in sub-section (1) of section 8 of the said Act from three per cent to two per cent with effect from 1st June, 2008.

Yes, we saw this notification as well as press release dtd 1st June. BUt we hear that this has either been withdrawn or implementation has been put off for the moment. Can you pls advise on this? Thanx!
Please send us the notification copy of CST changed
As there is no withdrawls notification, we should rely on issued notification only. so, rate of CST is 2% W.E.F. 1.6.2008.

kindly let us know weather we should rely on the reduced notification or any other in punjab as no notification has been issued till date for reduction of c.s.t by punjab govt.
