Notice for Deceased Father

Hello all,

My friend father died on April 19th 2022, he  has done some Cash Transactions in Fy. 2020-21 ( Asst Year 2021-22) but did not shown that income while filing the ITR.

He got the notice for the same on Nov 2nd 2022, In notice the AO is asking for those transactions details which his son is not aware of and  his son has closed all his bank account in the month of June itself.

How we should proceed with this, really confusing.

Note: he has approached 2 to 3 CA's but did not receive proper answer from them, so thought to take help from this forum

Please help

You will have to reply the query asked by AO as per the actual facts.

The liability to reply the queries depends upon the legal heir/s.

Better get the bank statement copies from bank/s, make financial statements, offer the tax liability, if any.

Otherwise AO may make assessment as per his data, and ask for interest and penalty.

You have not mentioned about the nature of notice received. further, please mention about the demise of your father to the department and if you have any cognizance about the transactions made by your father, furnish the same supported with documentary evidence. all transactions are not necessarily be a taxable income
Please do not post for knowledge purpose.

Thank you sir,

My friend is proceeding as per the notice he got with the help of CA.

You are welcome..
