Non filing of ITR for FY 19-20 (AY20-21)

Dear Friends

We are unable to submit our ITR for the FY 19-20 (FY20-21) since the time is crossed 12 mid night while completing the workings / entries.

Since the last date ie 31-03-2021 is over what are all the next we have to do to submit the ITR.

For filing return, you have to take approval from Jurisdictional CIT. it's allowed by CIT for specified reasons. After approval, you can file.

SEC 119 (2) (B) CONDONOTION OF DELAY

Please state for what reason you wish to file return ? Because it is permitted for few specified reasons only.

I know the reasons.

 

Since the finalization work was getting delayed in preparing the P&L BS etc., reaching 11.45 pm. After that we cannot submit our return online.

Sub:      IT Return – Assessment Year 2020-21 – Condonation of delay – request for belated filing – reg.

 

            Ref:      PAN No. _____________

 

We are the Income Tax Assessee in the rolls of the Assessing Officer, Ward ____________, and we have already filed our Income Tax returns without delay for the Assessment Year up to 2019-20.

We could not file the returns of income for the Assessment year 2020-21 because of the Accounts staff who resigned this office in May 2020 (after Covid-19 lockdown period), and the new staff was recruited after the lock down caused delay in completing the book of entries and filing GST Returns etc. The auditing of accounts was also getting delayed because of poor attendance of staff & irregular function of both of our office and auditor offices due to the announcement as a Containment Zone at staff residential, our office & Auditor office areas on various occasions due to the wave of Corona virus.

 

In the meantime, the sudden demise of my father and I am in force to complete the religious rituals related to the same during March – 2021 caused delay in finalization of the accounts with our Auditors and during the 30th & 31st of March 2021 the Income Tax portal was not functioning properly and we could not upload our return of income.

 

We have computed the total taxable income at Rs. …………….. and the tax refund thereon after deducting the TDS is Rs. ………….

 

We, therefore, request your good selves that the delay may be condoned and an order may be issued so as to file the return of Income and to seek the refund thereon.
