We have one additional place other than registered place for packaging of tea. But we did not declare it. What are legal consequences and remedial action.

Non filing of GST REG 01 and consequences

Undeclared additional place of business:
• A place of business (e.g. a packaging unit) not declared in registration is a violation. The officer can treat goods found there as unaccounted (risk of detention or confiscation under Sec 130), and penalise under Sec 122 / 125.
• Fix: file a non-core amendment (REG-14) to add the additional place of business (with address proof: rent agreement or ownership, and electricity bill). Approval is typically automatic for non-core amendments.
• Time limit: amendments should be applied within 15 days of the change (Rule 19).
