Today i received one letter from IT dept CPC. (income tax intimation). In that letter they have mention as per calculate under section 143(1) your refund amt is 0 for assessment year 2008-2009 . But as per my calculation it was around 1800 rs.. Now what can i do. Even it that letter they have calculate tds amt is more than tax liability amt.
My calculation was very simple. Company have deducted advance tax (TDS) more then actual tax amt and that balance amt i claimed
Now how to claim my amt.

You can apply to the AO of the ward where you file your return to rectify the aforesaid intimation u/s 154 of the act. From what you are narrating it appears that it is an error apparent from record and you can make rectification application to the AO. It needs to be made in plain paper and addressed to the AO.

Just write a letter to A.O. and personally hand over the letter.........Just ask him to rectify the mistake/error which might have happened unintentionally...........
Before filing the letter please make sure that your calculations are correct ......and see what the A.O. has done........
You can visit the relevant A.O. and in case u have any doubt upon the Calculation done by the him, u can ask him the ITNS (Income tax notes and Sheets) which is with the A.O. and in which the A.O do the calculation and all that stuff about ur income. U can see what things he did about ur income calculation.!!!!
