tax audit report of assesse was uploaded on 7th Feb and the same has been accepted by assesse on income tax portal. udin generated on 7th Feb but not updated on income tax portal.
today it is showing no records found for udin update.
what is the issue ?
do we need to update udin on IT portal before tax audit report is accepted by assessee ?

| This is a common portal sync issue. Here is the sequence and solution: 1. Correct Sequence: The UDIN must be generated on the ICAI UDIN portal (udin.icai.org) BEFORE uploading the tax audit form on the IT portal. The IT portal validates the UDIN at the time of upload/submission — if UDIN is not pre-registered or there is a sync delay, it shows 'No Records Found.' 2. Root Cause: ICAI's UDIN portal and the IT portal have a sync mechanism with a delay of a few hours to 24 hours. If the UDIN was generated just before the audit report upload, it may not have synced yet. 3. Solution Steps: - Log in to CA's IT portal login → e-File → Income Tax Forms → View uploaded forms → Check if the form is showing as 'Pending UDIN Update.' - If yes, click on 'Update UDIN' option and enter the UDIN generated. The system will validate against ICAI database. - If the form is already accepted by assessee but UDIN is pending, the UDIN can still be updated separately — it does not require re-submission or re-acceptance. 4. Time Lag: Wait 24 hours after UDIN generation and retry the UDIN update. The sync issue usually resolves on its own. 5. Important: UDIN must be registered against the specific document (Form 3CD/3CB) with all details matching. A UDIN generated for a different document type will also show 'No Records Found.' |
