Dear, dis is the new tds rate...
Professional – Rate is unchanged
Rent- Rates applicable w.e.f. October 1, 2009:

For the use of plant, machinery or equipment

For the use of land, building, furniture or fittings

The rates are not to be increased by surcharge and education cess
Contractor- Rates applicable w.e.f. October 1, 2009:

Same rate of TDS for payments to both contractors & sub-contractors

hey whether surcharge and education cess shouldnot to be charged to all type od deductions or only for any specified ?

And for the transport operator no TDS is deducted from 1st oct 2009, only if he furnishes PAN, other wise @ 2% , from 1st April 2010 @ 20% ,tax will be deducted

on rent tds rate is now 10% whereas it was 15.45% (TO individual) and 20.60%( AOP/BOI/CO./FIRM/CO-OP SOC) AND 22.66% (OTHER INDL./CO. BOI/CO-OP. SOCIETY WITH PAYMENT ABOVE 10.00 LACS.

While depositing the TDS under Sec 194I in the bank, We have wrongly mentioned our TAN No. 4 months ago. When I checked with the bank they say, They can do any correction.
