New tax regime option
if am employee did not intimate to the employer about opting for new tax regime and employer deduct tax as per existing rules then can employee opt for new tax regime at the time of filling of itr and pay tax as per new tax regime if it is beneficial to the employee. and whether he is bound to follow it in future years if he is a salaried person.

Quick Summary
In Form 16 part B , it is written , which tax regime you have opted .
Salary class person have the option to exercise and to withdraw new tax regime in beginning of every FY unlike the person who have income under head PGBP. You can also opt if your employer deduct TDS as per old tax regime. There is no bar for Salary Person.
