New Syllabus from Which Year

I came to know that new syllabus is implementing soon with 6 subjects in Intermediate.

May I know in which year, the first examination held with this new syllabus.

My burning desire is to study CA since my childhood. Actually I enrolled for PE-2 thru direct admission basing on my MBA (57.80%) qualification but failed to attempt till date though I am renewing my registration from time to time. My current registration valid till October 2023 for IPCC.

Could you please guide me how switch over to new syllabus now.

Requesting your valuable guidance / inputs for which I highly thank to all.

Hey P V Gopal! Great to hear about your passion for CA — that’s awesome!

Regarding the new CA syllabus with 6 subjects in Intermediate, here’s the scoop:

New CA Syllabus Implementation Timeline:

  • New syllabus introduced by ICAI from July 2022 exams onwards.

  • The first exam under this syllabus for the Intermediate (IPC/IPCC equivalent) level was held in July 2022.

  • The new syllabus has streamlined the number of papers and changed the exam pattern to 6 papers at Intermediate level.

How to switch from old IPCC to the new syllabus:

  1. Since your registration is valid till October 2023 for IPCC, you need to migrate to the new syllabus because ICAI has phased out the old syllabus completely.

  2. ICAI has issued migration rules for students registered under the old syllabus. You can opt for the new syllabus by applying through the ICAI portal.

  3. Your earlier exam attempts will be counted towards the new syllabus attempts as per ICAI’s transition policy.

  4. You should contact ICAI support or your regional office to get the exact migration process and fee structure.

  5. Also, start preparing for the new syllabus Intermediate with its 6 papers, as the pattern and subjects have changed.

Tips:

  • Visit ICAI’s official website for the latest updates on syllabus and migration.

  • Download new syllabus study materials and plan your preparation accordingly.

  • You can also reach out to coaching centers that are updated on the new syllabus.
