New income tax slabs

Tax queries 625 views 12 replies

im a salaried person and my gross salary is 12.86 lakhs. my net taxable income is 7.67 lakhs and as per old tax slabs my tax liability would be approx 68600/-

need clarification wrt new optional tax slabs. Whether all tax exemptions would be applicable for me,  as my gross salary is less than Rs.15 lakhs. if not which all are the exemptions which could be shown in the revised and optional tax calculation method.

Pls share approx tax to be paid as per new tax slabs....(fyi my Provident fund contribution per year is Rs.1.07 lakhs)

On 7.76lakh tax is 55500( approx) and. not 68600/-. ....The new slab thing won't apply coming year it is for AY 2021-22 FY 2020-2021...and by that time your salary will increase so...
Yes... I agreed with Ms Roshni.,

@ Mr Naveen Reghuraman.,

The new slab system (budget 2020) is applicable from AY 2021-22...

As per Your calculation we can't reduce tax Rs 68,600/-. So, ready to pay Your tax earlier and better to pay advance tax...

@ Roshni....how will  it be 55500 tax on rs.767000 as per present tax rates???

as per my knowledge it shud be

0-250000 = 0

250000-500000 = 12500 (250000*5%)

500001-767000 = 53400 (267000*20%)

Total 65900 + 2636 (Surcharge @ 4% ) = 68536

btw i know very well that the new tax slab will be applicable for next FY onwards....seems like u didnt get my question....i just wanted to know the impact on new tax slabs on my salary if by chance i opt for it....anyways thanx for your valuable reply

Well... Good... 👏👏👏

Exactly find out the value of Tax Mr. Naveen Reghuraman...
@ Raja P M ...Pls refer my reply to roshni...hope u wont agree with her now....i had mentioned in my earlier post that i am a salaried person..most of the organisations deduct TDS on salary ...pls note.....thanx for your reply
I had some confusions wrt exemptions applicable as per new tax slab. thats why i had raised my earlier query....but now its clear that none of the exemptions incl Home loan interest, 80C, etc etc can be applied while calculating tax as per revised and optional tax calculation method....got the info by reading dew articles...thanx
@ Mr Naveen Reghuraman.,

Are You see my reply or not...?

I know most of organization deducting TDS on salary... right...?!
But, it's suggestion for that. if TDS will be deduct most of the organization then question not required here...

In here reply not only to one person or From one person. If want reply from one person then ask through their individual message box...
Yeah my mistake I didn't calculate tax on 5 lakh...but that's okay...so you know everything then why do you ask... new rates are given apply it on gross total income directly without any deductions/allowances...not even pf contribution.
The irony of option choosing is that once it's chosen rightly or wrongly, that's for ever.

it's one time option type...
Choose carefully..

I am a freelance professional filing my tax under 44ADA - 50% as income/profit scheme.

After reducing earnings by 50%, currently under 'old' tax regime, I apply the old tax slabs to compute my tax liability.

Can I opt for new tax slabs (without exemptions) announced on 1-Feb-2020 as a 44ADA professional from AY2021-22 OR are the new slabs only for 'salaried' individuals?

The new slab applicable AY 21-2022...

We will wait for official announcement (GO)...

What about Profession Tax Rs 2500 per year, Rs 50,000 standard deduction, Rs 36,000 Fringe Benefit Food Expense, Rs 12000 per year mobile reimbursement?

Are these also going away on new tax regime?
