Negative amount in SFT transaction in 26 as

Dear Members,

In my 26 AS the SFT filer bank has recorded a whooping amount with a negative sign under SFT 005 time deposit for AY 2021-22. Last year my previous bank got merged with this new bank(SFT filer)and all my acs(FD and others) had migrated to this bank..And I did not open new TD worth more than 10 L with this bank. So,what may be the explanation of this amount with -ve sign showing in SFT and what should I do about it?

Quick Summary
A user reported a negative amount for a time deposit in their Form 26AS, suspecting a bank error due to account migration. Other members advised that such negative SFT transactions are often internal bank adjustments and usually don't require action from the taxpayer. You can generally proceed with filing your Income Tax Return without worrying about these specific entries.

Not to worry for such negative transactions. When you have not opened any new FD; you can reply accordingly.

Its Banks' internal adjustment.

No problem
