Please suggest me how can I complete/cover the Direct Taxes paper preparation in 1 month.Till today I was concentrating on Group-I preparation and from tomorrow, I will give more emphasis to Group-II preparation.IN Direct Taxes I hv just prepared till now the Wealth Tax & I hv read once the latest ammendments in DT from instiutute's Supplementory study Paper. I hv revised Q.T. & standard costing in Cost mng.paper & believe that I can manage(prepare) & revise all the 3 papers in these 30 days but scared of DT.

Please suggest me the sequence in which I should prepare DT and give me the tips for the same.

I hv got both, Bagar book (in Hindi) & Vinod Gupta Sir's notes for DT.

Please suggest me as early as possible.

Thanks in advance.

I agree with Mr Uday Kiran,\

Don't change the books and prpr the topics as suggested by Uday, but amendments are also imp...

U shud more emphasis on this subject by keeping practicles aspects of it...

correlate the provisions for easy remeberance...

If u have Padhuka then Read Fast Track Review for speedy revision and overview of DT

All The Best

Following are some of the Study Tips for DT. Hope it may be useful to you:

1. There are a lot of sections. So It is better to remember the Section numbers of main sections rather than all sections.

2. Chapters like Calculation of Income are important as they require knowledge of whole IT Act. So practise more and more sums from such chapters.

3. For theory answers, prepare a short book of main points. It will help you a lot in revising the whole course on the day before examination.

4. Go through the past year exam papers. From them you can have an idea regarding the pattern of Questions that are asked in examination.

5. Solve at least 4-5 past exam papers before exam so that you can get good experience of finishing the whole paper in time limit of 3 hours.

6. Avoid referring more than one book as it will create confusion. Refer only one book. Taxmann is the best reference book in my opinion.

7. Latest amendments and case laws are very important from exam point of view.

Best of luck....

  1. Refer only one book .
  2. PREPARE  Latest amendments
  3. SEE PATTERN OF QUESTION PAPERS.
  4.  Answers should be  based on case law
  5. Read important chapters first and then less important.
  6. Take reference for answers from previous attempts answer patterns.
  7. Practice practical question for  each section.

1. ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE (MOST IMPORTANT COZ IF U WON'T ANSWER ANY QUESTION FROM THIS PART, THEN THE MARKS WILL BE BELOW 40)

2. PGBP

3. WEALTH TAX

3. AMENDMENTS & RECENT CASE LAWS (SUPPLEMENTARY STUDY MAT, RTP & CASE LAWS BY ICAI)

4. READ SUMMARY MODULE OF VG SIR (U'LL GET FAMILIER WID ALMOST ALL THE TOPICS)

5. READ FAST TRACK REFENCER OF PADUKA (U'LL GET FAMILIER WID ALMOST ALL THE TOPICS)

6. TDS, SALARY(COZ OF FBT WITHDRAWN), SEC 10'S EXEPMTION & DEDUCTION UNDER CHAPTER VI-A.

7. LASTLY SOLVE THE COMPILER OF BANGAR.

DONT STRESS TOO MUCH COZ ITS MAY ATTEMPT & BONUS MARKS FROM AMMENDMENTS.
