Need information to appear for ipcc in november 2016

Hi All,

I am a Computer Engineer and MBA in Finance. I would like to know if I am exempt from attempting CPT or I have to mandatorily appear for the same?

In-case I can directly appear for IPCC, may I know the pre-requisites for the same?

Thanks,

Samir Rastogi

If you a graduate with 60% marks u are exempted from cpt. On enrolling for IPCC u have to complete 9 MTS articleship before IPCC exams out of 3 yrs period. See icai website for details on GRP process etc. Further, I believe being an MBA finance with comp.engng the CA course may not be attractive or remunerative to the students. Meet final students on your area or a CA professional in person and evaluate pros and cons. If u still wish.....u are most welcome

If you are passionate to do CA, then you should explore this option. As you have already put in 4years for Engineering and another 2 years for MBA and thinking to become CA, you may take minimum of 3 to 4 years, ask yourself whether you can sustain almost 9 to 10 years of your career for studies.

During the three year period you are required to work as an Article Trainee under a Chartered Accountant, have you factored this point before pursuing this course. You will be offered a monthly stipend which is neglible, if you work for a small CA Firm but however if you get into Big 4 then the amount would be highly remunerative in contrast to a small to medium CA Firm. I am not trying to scare you with my observations, but making you aware of the reality that you need to face while doing this course.

Always check with wise and experienced people who can guide you in the right path. All the best.
