Hey everyone. I need a favour from all of you. I appeared in CA Final nov13 exam n did not make it.n my marks are very bad. This is my 4th attempt n I failed in FR(35marks) SFM(26marks) Audit(25marks) ISCA(25marks) rest all I got 50+. especially DT 57 n IDT 59. quiet disheartened with the marks.last time I could not clear bcoz of aggregate but this time I didn't pass in 4 subjects. Please help me as to how should I prepare. should I go for self study or shud I join some classes. n if self study then what authors? I had scored 58 in SFM in last attempt n 55 in ISCA.

sir i am quiet younger to you, as i have recently cleared my ipcc exams. but what i have learnt till now is that coaching enables regularity of a subject but the result will be null and void if you dont do self study. the more you revise, more confidence you achieve!

Hello Anshul,

What you scored in last attemp that is not going to reflect your current marks.

sorry but as per your post i think you are over confident about that two subjects.

so i am sorry if hurts you.

do start your self study becoz you know your power by getting good marks

so dont go for classes start your self study

pay focus on all the subject irrespactive of facts that how much you scored in last attemps.

for ca please note that

if you are going to pass then 40 equals to pass & if you are going fail then 59 equals to 0

so take a rest for 2 to 3 days prepared your full plan of action & start with fresh mind.

Gyati: it doesn't matter if ur old or ur young. I appreciate ur response n there is always something to learn from everyone. Thank u so much for ur suggestion dear. I definitely tried self study this time but got worse result. I had taken coaching only for SFM, DT n IDT that too long back. Rest was self study. So I thot I mettry n change bBcoz

Hey Bhavik Thanks for the response on my post. U might b true but dear I had worked really hard to get that 58 in SFM bcoz i had scored 40 before that. So I am not saying m over confident but yes I was very confident. N I know what I wrote in exam was definitely not worth just 26 marks. So I have applied for revaluation in all 8 papers. This attempt I was confident not over confident that is the reason it gave me a shock seeing not even 40 in all the subjects. I definitely respect ur opinion take it positively nwill sta

N will definitely start working on it. I need suggestions so that i can improve where m lacking bcoz revaluation takes lot of time n its not at all sensible to wait for a positive response. So for preparation with more planning n positivity i posted this. i would b glad if u help me out with some books or authors also to refer apart from ICAI modules bcoz i am already referring them. Hey i'm struggling with the same problem.Couldn't get through both the groups in November '13. For ISCA I went through Dinesh Madan before but I guess there are a lot of uncovered topics in it , so right now I am going through Institute's Study Mat for ISCA only.

For Audit I'll go through Padhuka, I bought that book a couple of days before and it's got quite an extensive covereage.Much better than all other books.

Hope this might help you out.

Hi Piyush even I feel Dinesh madan is not covering all topics. I'll also start with Icai material. Audit I feel paduka is too detailed n elaborate so m a bit worried even looking at it. As u bought the book please tell me how is it and is it manageable to cover from paduka?

Sir I want to say that if you refer institute material for isca then chances for passing will be high as guidelines for answer for paper checker is made from study material of icai.

Thanks Adarsh I'll definitely try ICAI study mat. But what I am amazed is that I can't figure what went wrong. My ISCA marks in past attempts were 49,57,56,n this attempt 25. I am not able to c what happened this time.

I could not make it this time but I have got 55 marks in Audit. The book I have referred is Padhuka. Read it twice. 100% cover it n m sure it ll be good fr u...coz I believe der is no short cut for audit...the more u read the better ur writing standard ll be...ICAI expects professional language frm us nd padhuka really helps...In da latest edition de have covered Standards too in summary form. So now the book is fully equipped wid Chapters, Guidance notes n SAs...In my opinion just stick to it...U ll make it...!

Thanks a ton Mihir. I'll go for Paduka then. Bcoz actually i was pretty scared looking at the size of the book. Someone also suggested me for VK Aggarwal. So which one is better?
