Need help in surrendering of partnership PAN card

Hi,

Me and my father started a partnership firm by signing a deed as 50-50 partners and we obtained a PAN card too. The firm did not take off and I got busy in my job. But I kept filing 'zero income' return for the firm as I was getting notification for the same. Now, my father passed away in 2017 and I still kept filing return as a good citizen.

Now, I have concerns. I want to dissolve the firm and surrender PAN card.

1. Did I do wrong by filing the return since 2017 even when my father was not alive? If so, what can be the consequences, and how can I correct it?

2. The PAN card assessing officer jurisdiction is in Delhi, while I am staying in Noida. Can I surrender is seamlessly from Noida itself, or I will have to go to Delhi Income Tax office for the same?
